The UK Housing Market: Boys Vs. Girls

If men are from Mars and women are from Venus, how do they ever buy property together without falling out? Well according to a recent survey conducted by Home Sale Network amongst its Network members– quite amicably actually!
Survey results found that the UK property market is a shining example of gender equality with men and women sharing an equal knowledge of current housing market conditions. As a national network of specially selected, independent estate agents, of which Coast and Country is a member, Home Sale Network agents are ideally positioned to give insight into how men and women typically approach the buying and selling process.

Over half (1)of Network members who took part in the survey indicated that men and women both show a similar level of awareness when it came to knowing current property prices and market availability. In fact, nearly a third(2)of members also reported that men and women were equally willing to sacrifice property preferences given the current economic conditions.

So if you’re thinking of buying or selling with your other half this winter, it should be a (relatively) harmonious experience!

For help and advice on your move contact Coast and Country, 01626 366966. sales@cacia.co.uk, as a handpicked member of Home Sale Network, we’re your Local Expert for buying and selling.

(1)  52% of respondents indicated that males and females have an equal knowledge of property prices and availability in the current property market.

(2)  31% of respondents indicated that males and females were equally willing to sacrifice their property preferences because of the challenging economic climate.

COAST AND COUNTRY LEARN LOTS AT NATIONAL ESTATE AGENCY CONFERENCE

Coast and Country has just returned from another great Home Sale Network Annual Conference and we have come back with loads of new business ideas that we hope will benefit all of our customers.

Home Sale Network is a national network of independent estate agents and a division of Cartus, the premier provider of global relocation services - who handpicks each Network member.

As Newton Abbot’s handpicked Local Expert, we were joined by our fellow members from across England, Scotland and Wales at this year’s Conference and heard from some top business experts including keynote speakers, Paul McGee who wrote the bestseller SUMO (Shut Up, Move On), co-founder of the Intelligence Agency, John Knell and co-founder for the Future Laboratory, Chris Sanderson. Leading economist and founder of the Centre for Economics and Business Research, Douglas McWilliams also talked to us about the future UK economy and brand and social media expert Alex Hunter discussed how to use new technology effectively. It was fascinating stuff!

The event took place in Central London’s Park Plaza Riverbank Hotel on Friday 18 November and ended with a glamorous evening awards dinner hosted by none other than Alexander Armstrong – regular host of Have I Got News For You and the BBC One quiz show Pointless.

We look forward to doing it all again and learning lots more at next year’s Conference!

These awards, combined with the other regional awards’ programmes for Arabia, Europe, the Americas, Africa and Asia Pacific, form the globally renowned International Property Awards. Established 17 years ago, they are the world’s most prestigious property competition and cover residential as well as commercial categories.  Judging is carried out through a meticulous process involving a panel of over 80 experts and covering every aspect of the property business.

President of the International Property Awards, Stuart Shield, says, “I enjoy having the chance to meet some of the UK’s finest estate agents who, in spite of facing real market challenges, have been able not only to meet them but also to excel over them.”
